Fitness Spotlight: Beatbox Fitness 

The day has finally come - I've found the BEST fitness class concept!

I often find myself either on the bike at a spin class or shuffling through machines on the same old, boring gym floor wondering to myself, "Why isn't there a live DJ in here!?"

The music would be pumping and loud and you would feel like you're already at the club. For me, that combination is the ultimate motivation! While strolling down Eighth avenue in Manhattan the other day, I came across a sign that said, "Transform the way you think about fitness." We are often so busy and consumed in our daily lives that we settle for the ordinary. I decided that day not to settle anymore!

Kickboxing has always been one of my favorite forms of exercise - it's heart pumping and a great overall workout.  After doing some research on kickboxing classes in midtown, I’ve discovered Beatbox Fitness. I am now addicted to this concept!  It's the ultimate experience - an intense cardio and core toning workout plus.....a live DJ! You heard me, it's the most fun anyone could have. The DJ creates the playlist and spins the entire class, matching the beat of the songs to synch with your moves.

Kicking and punching for an hour straight is definitely challenging and I am still feeling sore! But I can't wait to go back. Not only are these workouts fun and interactive and fueled by live music, it's a major confidence booster. Next up, I'm going to try and catch a Sunday morning class in Union Square! So, I'm super pumped for taking advantage of all the city I grew up in has to offer for the rest of my Summer Sundays. No excuses anymore!
